This course introduces students to social media. They gain a deep understanding of both the evolution of social media and the current state of the field, both in terms of what technology is available and what direction companies are moving toward. It explains practical ways to use social media for forming personal connections that can help students in their professional life. The course also covers commercial use of social media, teaching students to set up and market products using an e-commerce host like Shopify.

Students gain a deep understanding of the evolution and current state of the social media industry. They will be able to operate in social media marketing, technical development, and talent discovery teams optimally. Students will also be able to understand how to increase viewer retention and create strategies for improving user experiences on social media.

Cloud Computing

This subject introduces to the Cloud Computing technology and its real-world implications, different services of cloud, deployment models and key concepts such as data storage, servers, databases, internet networking and  software.

At the end of this course, the students pertain:

• Skill to understand core cloud concepts, basics of cloud architecture, services offered by Cloud service providers (AWS, GCP).
• Knowledge how to migrate to the Cloud.
• Deploy servers on virtual machines in cloud.

Internet of Things

This subject is an introduction to Internet of Things (IoT), brief description of IoT conceptual framework, architecture, sensors, IoT communication, skills required to build own IoT devices and security. alongside understanding the concepts of Machine Learning and to develop projects that solve simple needs.

At the end of this course, the students gain

• Knowledge in Internet of Things architecture, operation, business benefits, and be familiar with key technologies and protocols.
• Apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the course to build working IoT systems involving prototyping, programming and data analysis through which meaningful decision can be made by help of machine Learning.

Ethereum (Blockchain)

Overview:

This course introduces the basics of Blockchain technology, including the evolution of the blockchain technology from the late 90s to the most cutting-edge developments and validation technology being implemented today. It also covers popular block platforms such as Solidity and Hyperledger.  Finally, students are also taught about more practical cryptocurrency concepts, which help them understand the financial aspect of the field much better.

Outcome:

The student will gain a understanding of how blockchain technology operates, along with its evolution and different adaptations over time. They will be able to make accurate judgements between different blockchain and avoid scams. They will understand smart contracts and develop basic smart contracts with Solidity, as well as Hyperledger and Hyperledger Composer.

Network and Communication

In this course, we trace the evolution of networks and identify the key concepts and types of Network Devices. We introduce concepts of Servers and examples of these concepts. Further, we explain fundamental concepts that focus on Network Topologies, with their advantages and disadvantages. Concept of Layered Architecture and Error techniques in Data Link Layer and Network Layer functionalities, subnetting concepts and Advanced Network Concepts is also covered. In addition with this we also discuss the TCP/IP architecture and also covers different types of communication protocols used.

At the end of the course Students can learn:

• Concepts of Network Devices, Basic Concepts of Servers and DNS, Network Topology and its Types, Layered Architecture
• IPV4 VS IPV6, Subnetting Concepts, Advanced Networking Concepts, TCP/IP architecture and Routing examples

Cyber Security

This course focuses on Cyber Security Basic Concepts like Common terms used, types of malicious files used, privacy issues faced in day-to-day life, cookies, Cryptography also focuses on practical demos on cryptography and practical examples to protect against Cyber Attacks.

At the end of the course Students can learn:

• Importance of Cyber Security, Key Concepts
• Common terms used in Cyber Security, Security Technologies used
• Challenges of Cyber Security, Concepts of Cryptography, Hash Function
• Practical Demo of Cryptography, Practical Vulnerability analysis

Embedded Programming Language

This subject focuses on basics of embedded systems and its real-world examples, brief description about programming languages used in embedded systems, why embedded C is preferred than other languages. Embedded C programming language and how microcontroller is programmed for different task is also discussed in this subject.

At the end of this course, the students can learn

• Introduction to embedded systems and microcontroller, Embedded C programming and its structure
• Programming of the microcontroller using embedded C, Steps to burn/embed a program in the microcontroller
• Programming in KEIL IDE and PROTEUS simulation software
